Day 1: Tbilisi – Borjomi – Akhaltsikhe

Start Time: 08:00 AM

Meet your guide at your desired location in Tbilisi. We take a short drive to Mtskheta, the former capital of Georgia. Over 2,500 years old, Mtskheta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore Jvari Church (6th century) and enjoy the stunning panorama of Mtskheta where the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers converge.

Next, head to Borjomi to taste its famous mineral water from the springs. Enjoy a scenic 3-hour hike in Borjomi Park along the Borjomula River. Dinner will be at Nika Khachapuridze's wine cellar, followed by check-in at a local guesthouse in Akhaltsikhe.

Day 2: Akhaltsikhe – Vardzia – Goderdzi Resort

Drive to the historic Vardzia Cave City, with photo stops at Rabati Castle and Khertvisi Fortress. Vardzia, built in the 12th century, features hundreds of rooms carved into the rock, spanning nearly one kilometer and rising 13 levels.

Visit the Zarzma Monastery, a masterpiece of Samtskhe-Javakheti Province. Continue off-road to the picturesque Goderdzi Pass. Explore the Alpine Botanical Garden and Beshumi Village. Overnight and dinner at a hotel in Goderdzi Resort.

Day 3: Goderdzi – Batumi – Ozurgeti

After breakfast, explore the scenic Green Lake in the mountains. Continue to Vaio Village in mountainous Adjara to visit farmer Lado Shavishvili’s family-run Georgian wine cellar (Marani) and learn about the ancient “Kvevri” wine-making tradition.

Head toward the Black Sea and discover one of the largest botanical gardens near Batumi. Located on Green Cape Mountain, this garden has more than 5,000 species of plants across 113 hectares. Afterwards, move on to the Guria Province for accommodation and dinner in Ozurgeti.

Day 4: Ozurgeti – Tea Plantations – Sazano Village

Visit Bakhvi Village to experience the rich traditions of tea growing in the Guria Province. Learn how to pick tea leaves yourself at the Teneshvili family tea plantations and see a small family-run tea factory in action.

Later, head to the Imereti region for a culinary masterclass where you’ll learn to make “Imeretian Khachapuri” with the locals. Overnight will be in the host’s guesthouse in Sazano Village.

Day 5: Sazano – Chiatura – Tour Conclusion

Depart for Chiatura, famous for its cable cars and the magnificent Katskhi Pillar—a 40-meter natural limestone monolith. On top sits a tiny church (only accessible to monks). Take photos, visit the 8th-century Mgvimevi Monastery built inside the caves, then tour Chiatura itself. Afterwards, drive to your desired drop-off location, concluding the tour.
